City Manager Darren Leiker said an outside audit of Wichita Falls' comprehensive annual financial report returned a clean opinion with no findings, a result he described as "good" for the city.
The presentation to council included remarks that the city's financial reporting continues to be recognized; Leiker said the city has a long streak of award recognition for the document. The auditor, Paul Fleming, gave a brief presentation to council earlier in the meeting.
"It was a clean audit," Leiker said, and later noted there were "no findings." He thanked the finance staff and specifically recognized CFO Steven Calvert for leading the department's work.
Public Information Officer Chris Horgan also acknowledged the finance office, calling the recognition "a very well deserved shout out." The city said the audit process covers the entire city budget and state and federal grants.
The city did not announce further changes in finance policy or follow-up actions related to the audit during the wrap.
