Heritage commission elects leaders, approves minutes and adds 300 Diablo to potential resources

The Danville Heritage Resources Commission completed several procedural votes at its Nov. 10 meeting, electing leadership, approving prior minutes and amending its inventory to add one property to the potential resources list.

For 2026 leadership the commission accepted a nomination for chair (the nominee was nominated as "Wayne Lockhart," and in the exchange referred to as "Wade"); the nominee accepted and the body elected the chair by voice vote. The commission also elected Michaela Larson as vice chair after she was nominated and accepted.

A member moved to accept the summary of action for Nov. 10, 2025; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. Later in the meeting the commission agreed to correct the previously approved inventory of historic sites to add the property at 300 Diablo (the greenhouse at Diablo and West Oakton). Staff identified Shannon Jones as the owner; commissioners moved, seconded and approved adding the property to the potential‑resources list.

All procedural items were approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Staff said more detailed historic reporting would be required if an owner seeks formal designation in the future.
