Willow Springs proclaims National Public Works Week and highlights village-hall renovations

The Village of Willow Springs read and entered into the record a proclamation recognizing National Public Works Week on May 23, 2024, praising the public‑works department for maintaining infrastructure and services that support community health and quality of life.

President Nedimeyer read language from the proclamation that honored public‑works professionals and invited the public‑works director and staff forward for a group photo. Public Works Director Grantland and trustees highlighted recent local accomplishments: completion of village‑hall renovations, installation of two new basketball backboards at the park and a splash pad scheduled to open the next day. Trustee Micah announced the first Park & Rec concert for June 21.

The board thanked public works staff and encouraged residents to attend upcoming community events. The president also reminded residents that the village newsletter would be arriving soon and noted the next board meeting date.

The proclamation and remarks were ceremonial and did not require a board vote.
