Commission approves $18,000 restoration paint job for county's 1951 fire truck

Emergency Management Director Josh Phillips presented two quotes to restore and repaint the county's 1951 fire truck: $15,500 without chrome and $18,000 including chrome. Phillips said the truck is running, has historical significance in the county and will be used in America 250 celebrations.

Commissioner Tracy Killian moved to approve the higher quote to include chrome from Killian's Truck Collision & Paint Inc. and to fund the work from Fund 41. Commissioner Jeff Chugg seconded the motion. Commissioners Killian, Chugg and Chairman Greg Miles voted aye and the motion passed unanimously.

County officials said the restoration is intended to preserve local history and allow use of the truck in upcoming celebratory events. The minutes record the approval and funding source; final contract execution will follow standard county procurement and accounting processes.
