Shiawassee County board passes consent items including $11.24M in bills, personnel replacements and a $5,000 MSU river cleanup contract

Shiawassee County commissioners on May 15 approved a series of routine consent items and administrative actions recorded in the meeting minutes.

The board authorized payment of Invoice Edit Reports and payroll batches and electronic transfers totaling $11,240,881.99 and directed that warrants be drawn from the county Treasury for the same. The motion passed on a roll-call vote of 7-0.

Also on the consent calendar the board approved the replacement of one sheriff road patrol deputy and one animal control officer and voted to permit the Shiawassee County Prosecutor’s Office Investigator to join the Law Enforcement Officers Regional Training Commission (LEORTC); each of those motions carried 7-0. The board adopted the 2023 Health Department Annual Report and placed it on file.

The board approved a $5,000 contract between Michigan State University and the Shiawassee County Health Department to support a river cleanup project and authorized the board chair to execute the contract.

Finally, the board accepted the letter of resignation from John Michalec from the Road Commission and authorized the County Coordinator to post the vacancy on the county website.
