Cloud County reports $14.5 million cash balance, approves payroll and several personnel and financial actions

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on April 13 reviewed the Budget Status and Fund Status reports as of March 31, 2026, showing an ending cash balance of $14,535,225.32. The Board approved payroll expenses totaling $185,252.54 and payroll deductions and benefits of $78,082.99; the minutes list fund-by-fund payroll allocations.

On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, the Board unanimously approved Resolution 2026-07 to void checks and warrants over two years old in accordance with KSA 10-815, totaling $166.38. The Board also approved abatement 2026-111 (net change ($17.06) and a refund of $17.06) and approved re-hiring Joy Ann Fenske as Corrections Officer II (H7) effective April 6, 2026.

The Board recognized resignations from Lois Tracy and Latisha Vanous, both Home Health Aides, effective May 1, 2026, and acknowledged the earlier resignation of LEC Administrator Matthew Nevins effective March 16, 2026. The Board approved the April 6, 2026 minutes and adjourned the meeting at 11:57 a.m. until April 20, 2026.
