Board approves claims, pays off recycling truck, adds cameras and reschedules June meeting

The Washington County solid waste board approved minutes and accepted claims by unanimous voice vote during its meeting (motions and seconds were recorded). "Motion to approve minutes as presented," the Chair said; after a second the Chair called for a voice vote. A subsequent motion to accept the claims was moved by the Committee member and carried unanimously.

Board members noted that the county paid off recycling equipment/the recycling truck as part of an additional appropriation intended to help next year's budget. "So that's to help next year's budget," the Director said, and members characterized the payoff as a positive outcome for future budgets.

The Committee member asked about Northside security cameras; the Chair said there are seven installed and the Director said they will add three more as part of the Northside security project. The Committee member also reported she had asked Tammy about whether there was enough budget for fuel given price increases; Tammy had confirmed funds were sufficient to get through the year.

The Director requested a schedule change for the June meeting because they would not be available on the regular third-Monday date. The board moved and seconded a motion to hold the June meeting on Friday, June 12 at 9:00 a.m.; the Chair called the vote and members recorded it as unanimous.

The meeting adjourned after routine closing remarks.
