Chickasaw County supervisors reject FY2026–27 budget after 3–2 vote

The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors opened a public hearing on the fiscal year 2026–27 county budget at 9:10 a.m. on April 13 and closed the hearing at 9:19 a.m. The minutes state there were no written or oral comments from the public.

Supervisor Breitbach moved, and Supervisor Cerwinske seconded, to adopt Resolution 04-13-26-21 to approve the FY2026–27 county budget. The roll call vote was recorded as Ayes: Breitbach and Cerwinske; Nays: Carter, Suckow and Chairperson Hackman. The motion failed 2–3, and the board did not adopt the budget at that meeting.

The minutes also record a discussion of Resolution 04-13-26-22, concerning elected officials' wages for FY2026–27; the board took no action on that wage resolution during the April 13 meeting.
