Votes at a glance: Medford board approves consent agenda, fees, equipment and staffing additions

The Medford Area Public School District Board recorded several motions as carried at its Feb. 23 regular meeting. The meeting minutes note the following actions.

Consent agenda: A motion by Steve Deml with Heidi Haynes seconding approved the consent agenda (including the agenda, secretary’s report, minutes of Jan. 26, 2025, and treasurer’s and personnel reports). The motion carried.

Purchasing: The finance committee moved to purchase a combi oven and serving system for $41,339; the motion carried.

Staffing additions: The finance committee moved to add an elementary assistant principal and an English language learner (ELL) teacher for the 2026–27 school year; the motion carried.

Student fees: A motion by Brian Hallgren with Aemus Balsis seconding accepted the proposed student fee schedule as presented; the motion carried.

Policy adoption: For second reading, the board adopted the bylaws and policies codified on the district website (Policies 0100–9800.01) by motion (Aemus Balsis/John Zuleger); the motion carried.

Adjournment: A motion to adjourn (Corey Dassow/Don Everhard) carried and the meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
