The Norfolk County Commission on March 25 approved two procurement actions: a five-year lease for groundskeeping equipment for the Wallace Recreation Facility and a contract with Parr Corporation to provide engineering services for reconstruction of the parking lot behind Dedham District Court.
During the procurement report, staff (Speaker 5) asked the board to approve a five-year lease through PNC Bank for two pieces of grounds equipment, stating an “annual payment of $5,643 for 5 year period. Total lease price, $28,215.” The motion to approve the lease was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
On a separate item, staff described a competitively procured contract with Parr Corporation to produce schematic design, engineering oversight and permitting support for the parking lot project. Staff said the county had supplemented the project at roughly $350,000 and that the consultant’s proposal fee “is not to exceed $55,600 total.” The commission approved contracting Parr Corporation; staff said the firm is expected to deliver a cost estimate in about 4–6 weeks to determine whether additional funds will be needed before public bidding.
Commissioners asked about timing, town permitting and notifying abutters; staff said facilities would coordinate public notices and town permitting if needed. The approvals were recorded as voice votes in the transcript; no roll-call tallies or recorded nay votes appeared.
