County staff told commissioners on April 17 that the courthouse renovation and annex work are moving forward after earlier delays.
A staff member said survey and civil engineering work for the court approach are complete and that groundwork and material ordering should begin this week. "We're moving forward," the staff member said, adding that a value-engineering discussion had resolved an exterior panel decision and that the team had ordered required materials.
Facilities staff reported an urgent plumbing issue in the annex: cast-iron sewer piping is clogging and the county will need to remove and replace four sections in one of the men2 80 99s restrooms. "It's going to be a costly repair," a facilities staff member said, and the county has already started the work.
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about the scope and confirmed the survey covered the lot and boundary area needed for the project. No formal procurement decisions were made during the update; staff said they would continue with the design-build schedule and keep the commission informed as work progresses.
The court adjourned at 10:24 a.m.
