Board hears updates on corporation yard RFQ, upcoming budget schedule and new water utility manager

Patricia Whitfield updated the board on several informational items. She said the city council approved issuing an RFQ for a corporation yard master plan to evaluate the existing site and three alternative locations; the work will assess departmental space needs and could take about a year. Whitfield noted potential economies of scale between the corporation yard planning and the domestic wastewater plant expansion.

Whitfield also said Jacob will present the proposed budget at the next board meeting and that the board will be asked at the last May meeting to hold a public hearing and adopt the utility funds budget. She announced the water utility manager position will be filled Monday after a period of vacancy and that the new manager will attend the first May meeting for an introduction; Whitfield referenced interim coverage by Tim Doyle.

A resident reminded the public of a separate budget informational session that evening at 6 p.m. in council chambers (informational only). The Chair adjourned the meeting at 4:17 p.m.
