The Webster County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved revised plans and agreements for the Lundgren Wind Farm during its May 21, 2024 meeting, following a brief public hearing and a presentation by a Mid‑American representative.
A Mid‑American representative delivered a short overview of proposed improvements to the Lundgren Wind Farm. Nancy Schmalenberg of Vincent asked how the changes would affect taxation of the turbines, asking, "How will this affect the taxes on the windmills — will their valuation be changed?" Board motions then approved the Revised Lundgren Wind Farm Decommissioning Plan, the Revised Lundgren Wind Farm Drainage Agreement, and the Revised Lundgren Wind Farm Roads Agreement, and authorized the chair to sign the documents. The motions were moved by Supervisor Carlson and seconded by Supervisor Hayek and carried unanimously.
Copies of the approved plans and agreements were noted as filed in the Auditor’s Office. No written public comments had been received before the hearing.
The board’s actions finalize local approvals tied to the wind farm’s decommissioning and infrastructure responsibilities; the county record indicates the signed documents are available on file in the Auditor’s Office. The board took the votes as part of a broader session that also included other construction contracts, fund transfers and routine consent‑agenda items.
