The Bronx County/City leadership committee agreed at an April meeting to reschedule the full board meeting and several committee sessions to improve attendance.
Members confirmed that the full board meeting will be scheduled for late May — the committee settled on the twentieth as the target date — and shifted related committee meetings so key committees do not conflict. "We're going to the twentieth," the moderator said during the discussion, and members placed economics/public safety on the nineteenth and moved housing-related items to dates around the eighteenth.
Committee members said the changes aim to avoid conflicts and increase participation. Staff said draft calendars for May and June were available for review and that updated copies would be circulated. The committee also noted one April meeting will be held at Centerlight.
The committee discussed internal procedures for nominations and elections during the same session and confirmed the nominating/elections committee can present nominees directly to the full board under the bylaws, which avoids needing seconds on the floor.
Next steps: staff will finalize and distribute the revised calendars and raise any disputed or location-specific date changes at the next full board meeting.
