At the July meeting the City of Lewistown commission approved several consent and action items by roll call vote.
Resolution 4194 — TIF funds: The commission approved an application for tax increment financing (TIF) assistance for a renovation project at 524 West Washington (applicant Will Buck). Staff said the county TIF board previously authorized up to $14,700, representing 50% of the project's eligible exterior concrete and parking work; commissioners approved forwarding the application.
Resolution 4195 — TED district grant: The commission approved a $10,000 grant request through the Lewistown Targeted Economic Development district to assist Valleyhood Printing with driveway and parking improvements related to business expansion. Commissioners discussed the eligibility rules for TED/TIF funds and the program's clawback provisions for misuse.
Emergency services dispatch agreement: The commission approved an agreement to provide basic 9‑1‑1 dispatch services to Fergus County, similar to arrangements with neighboring counties; the city will continue to receive a set annual payment for service.
Wastewater pump rebuild: The commission authorized payment of $15,725.85 for a trailer‑mounted pump rebuild at the wastewater treatment plant after staff reported the repair exceeded the initial quote and required commission approval under purchasing rules.
All four items were approved by roll call with recorded "Aye" votes from the commissioners present. Staff said that further project details, procurement documents and any required intergovernmental agreements will be returned to the commission as necessary.
