Pinetop Lakeside reports $5.6 million in tax revenue through March; general fund cash at $2.35 million

Finance staff presented the town’s March year-to-date financials and highlighted revenue and fund-balance trends.

Sarah from the finance department reported that the town collected $5,600,000 in tax revenue year-to-date through March in the general fund, with TPT (transaction privilege tax) collections just over $4,000,000, other taxes about $1.3 million and non-tax revenues near $222,000. "These numbers are reconciled through March," Sarah said, noting staff resolved a prior reconciliation issue.

Sarah said TPT was down roughly 1.6% year-to-date, driven primarily by a 57% decline in construction-related receipts and a 20% drop in commercial rentals; retail sales and restaurant receipts were up. On expenditures, the general fund had spent approximately $5,400,000 year-to-date and remaining general fund balances were reported; cash on hand in the general fund was $2,353,533, about $291,000 higher than February but slightly down from March 2025.

The presentation covered other funds, noting slower spend in grants and capital (around 9% of budget spent in other funds year-to-date). Sarah invited questions; none were asked and the council moved on to other business.
