Michelle, a representative of Lori's Place (the Cochise Family Advocacy Center), said the nonprofit provides free services for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, child abuse and elder abuse across Cochise, Graham and Greenlee counties.
"Lori's Place is Cochise Family Advocacy Center. We are the only advocacy center for Cochise, Graham, and Greenlee Counties," Michelle said, describing services that include forensic interviews, forensic medical exams, peer support and victim advocacy. She emphasized that clients are not billed for services and that funding comes from donations, fundraising and grants.
Michelle invited the public to Lori's Place’s fourth annual golf tournament on May 22 at the Sierra Vista Golf Center, an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The event accepts two-, three- and four-person scramble teams; sponsorships are available, and non-golfers can sponsor teams that will be staffed by first responders.
She also listed donation needs for clients, including new toys for children, sports equipment, clothing and basic items such as socks and underwear, and provided contact options: phone (520-515-4444), email (admin@lauriesplaceaz.org) and lauriesplaceaz.org.
Michelle said raffle prizes and sponsor recognition are part of the tournament and thanked community sponsors already pledged support.
