Board permits Crab Cake Factory West to expand live music to four pieces, extend hours to 10 p.m.

The Worcester County Board of License Commissioners approved a request from Crab Cake Factory West to allow up to four live musicians (up from two) and to extend live‑music hours to 10 p.m.

Applicants, introduced by the chair as James Castle and John Brooks, said the venue previously operated with two acoustic pieces and requested the change to remain competitive during the season and to provide additional entertainment value between approximately 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. One applicant told the board, "We've had 2 piece music, and in the wintertime it just, last year, stopped doing that… I just want to be able to have 4 piece music." The board moved to approve the requested change, a second was recorded, and the motion carried.

The license record will be updated to reflect the altered entertainment allowance and the extended music hours as approved by the board. No public opposition was recorded during the hearing.
