Goochland Planning Commission elects chair and vice chair, adopts 2026–27 calendar

The Goochland County Planning Commission held its organizational meeting and elected Guy Kimberly as chair and Martin Dean as vice chair. The nominations were reported by the nominating committee, motions were made and seconded, and members recorded aye votes to approve the officers (nominations and votes recorded during the meeting).

The commission approved the minutes from the March 19, 2026 meeting by voice vote. Members also reviewed the Planning Commission bylaws; staff proposed no amendments and, with no changes offered by commissioners, the existing 2025 bylaws will remain in effect.

The commission considered and adopted the Planning Commission meeting calendar for 2026–27 after a motion and second. The calendar appears on page 27 of the meeting packet and was approved as presented.

The meeting moved on to the evening’s public hearing items after the organizational business was completed.
