Council confirms John Yearley as Chief of Technology and Administrative Services

New Castle County Council approved Resolution 26-083, consenting to the appointment of John Yearley as Chief of Technology and Administrative Services.

Yearley, introduced and interviewed at the executive committee earlier in the day, spoke briefly to thank council members, acknowledged mentors and county colleagues, and described his county career beginning in 1999. "I truly believe they have faith in the county... I look forward to continuing that effort and keeping the county safe and providing the best technology has to offer to the county," Yearley said.

Several council members spoke in support of Yearley’s appointment during the floor discussion, praising his institutional knowledge and experience. The clerk called the roll and the president announced that the resolution had been adopted.

The appointment places Yearley in the county’s technology leadership role; he said he will focus on building a fault-tolerant, disaster-recovery environment and enhancing cybersecurity within the county’s budgetary constraints.
