The county’s chief information officer updated the Technology Committee on April 3 about the ongoing ERP implementation. CIO Chris Blaney said staff completed 12–13 use cases and have launched roughly 30 work streams with more than 100 people participating in configuration and alignment work.
Blaney said the project implementer currently rates the project green (technically yellow until a change order is signed) and that staff are moving toward a December 1 go‑live date to align the first payroll after January 1 and to meet ARPA and fiscal planning considerations.
The CIO emphasized that the technology itself is not the principal challenge; the principal risk is change management and getting decentralized departments to align on standardized processes, approval flows and chart of accounts. Members expressed support for the ERP effort and urged staff to use the board’s support to help resolve sticking points; staff said Patrice Evans, the internal project manager, will return next month with more granular reporting on work streams, risks and milestones.
No vote was required; staff said they will report detailed status in coming meetings and advised the board the go‑live date will be confirmed in the next few weeks as change orders and work‑stream progress are reconciled.
