Michigan House adopts memorial resolution for former Rep. Terry London; colleagues deliver tributes

The Michigan House on April 14 read and adopted House Resolution 278 honoring the life and service of former Representative Terry London.

Clerks read the full memorial text recounting London’s life: born and raised in Port Huron, service in the U.S. Navy, a 35‑year career with Detroit Edison, roles in local government, and multiple terms in the Michigan House (service noted for the periods 1985–1986 and 1989–1998). The resolution recorded London’s committee service (including leadership in transportation and roles on committees covering housing, consumers, senior citizens, agriculture, education and others), his civic involvement, and his family survivors; it directed that copies of the resolution be transmitted to his family.

Representative Pavlov offered a personal remembrance, describing London as a mentor and a servant-leader who displayed a ‘‘servant’s heart’’ and who made meaningful contributions to his community and colleagues. The House adopted the memorial resolution; the body stood at ease and members rose in tribute.
