At its Feb. 11 regular meeting and a Feb. 26 special meeting, the Rockcastle County Fiscal Court approved a suite of fiscal and personnel actions.
The court accepted the County Clerk’s 2024 excess fee check for $105,176.45; Squire McGuire moved and Squire Prewitt seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The court also approved routine claims and the monthly financial report and authorized multiple transfers: $31,281.09 from Federal Funds to the Road Fund and a $95,000 transfer from the Occupational Tax Fund to the General Fund, broken down as $75,000 to the Jail Fund and $20,000 to the 911 Fund.
Budget actions included approval of budget transfers and the first reading of a budget amendment on Feb. 11 and approval of the second reading on Feb. 26. The court approved a 2.9% salary increase for the County Coroner and all five magistrates, effective February 2025. Other approvals included incentive payments for staff who completed 40 hours of training, approval of claims, and authorizing payments such as $7,500 to Davis Salvage & Auto Parts Inc. for a pickup dump bed upon invoice.
