Todd County approves $1,500 for Todd Central Project Graduation

Commissioners at a Todd County meeting voted to award $1,500 from the county budget to Todd Central High School’s Project Graduation program. The court’s chair called for a motion and, after a second, the donation passed on a voice vote; the chair said the county clerk (Angie) would issue a check that day.

Students from Todd Central described their post‑graduation plans before the vote. One senior said, “My goal is to become a history teacher,” and another said she plans to complete two years at a community college before transferring to Western Kentucky University to pursue pharmaceutical sales work. Hannah Mitchell identified herself as a co‑op student from Todd Central and thanked the court.

The donation will fund Project Graduation activities aimed at giving graduating seniors safe, supervised events. The court did not attach conditions to the payment and handled the request as a single agenda item. The chair closed the item by noting students were welcome to stay for the remainder of the meeting.
