The Student Advisory Committee (SAC) announced that the committee’s systemwide student survey has received institutional review board approval and will be distributed to all 17 campuses in late March. "I was able to secure approval from the IRB for the survey," Tyler Yee, vice chair, said, adding that the committee will set up "the secure and safe distribution of the survey to the 17 campuses."
The final survey incorporates faculty feedback and two additional questions — one about campus safety and one about mental health — that were not in the earlier draft. Committee members were told Tyler will circulate the IRB-approved question list after the meeting so Student Government Associations can preview the content.
Tim, an advisor, said the instrument is short: "it's 5 to 7 minutes," easing concerns about survey fatigue given recent competing campus surveys. The SAC plans centralized marketing and distribution support using each campus’s institutional IT and IR units to maximize reach.
The committee said it will notify members and campus contacts by email and Teams when the survey goes live and will follow up with materials to help SGAs promote participation. No budget line for SAC outreach was reported; members were told any funding requests would need to go to the Board of Regents.
