Fernley senior committee elects Sharon Holly as vice chair; plans newsletter, resource-guide updates and event staffing

The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee nominated Sharon Holly as vice chair; Jackie LaVoy moved the nomination and Lisa Callahan seconded. The committee approved the nomination by voice vote and the chair announced Sharon Holly as vice chair.

Members discussed committee assignments after a resignation in the newsletter role. The chair proposed moving Jordan Hicks from the event subcommittee to communications; members agreed to a gradual transition so Jackie LaVoy can provide continuity while staff support is added. April (city staff) said she would speak with acting city manager Lydia and confirm which staff member can assist with the newsletter. Committee members requested that staff provide confirmation via email.

On the senior resource guide, members said the file was previously maintained on a former staff member’s computer (Casey) and asked staff to locate the most recent version on the shared drive to avoid re-creating the guide. The committee agreed to gather edits and return with an updated version and bids for printing at the April meeting.
