15‑year‑old 4‑H ambassador presents pollinator bill and earns committee applause

Representative Eaves brought forward SB 2065 and invited 15‑year‑old Lucille Morehouse, a 4‑H state ambassador, to present the bill on his behalf. Morehouse told the committee she began a volunteer project to package and distribute seed packets and later expanded the work into a broader pollinator protection effort. "Without our pollinators, our agriculture would be bare," she said, urging members to support designating four pollinator species so Oklahomans will protect them.

The sponsor thanked Morehouse and praised her work; the committee responded with applause and advanced the bill on a 15–0 vote. Members congratulated Morehouse on her presentation and the sponsor noted the bill grew from youth engagement and FFA/4‑H involvement.

The measure will move to the full House calendar for further consideration.
