At the April 15 Heard County Board of Commissioners meeting an applicant, Sheena Holloway, attended expecting a scheduled public hearing on a zoning matter that had not been placed on the agenda because the Building and Zoning Director did not submit the application for advertisement.
Commissioner Iris Harris moved, with a second from Commissioner Curtis Mock, to amend the agenda to acknowledge Holloway and hear an explanation of her application. The Board clarified that no public hearing or decision could occur that night because legal notice and advertisement requirements had not been met. On a motion by Commissioner James Perry and a second by Commissioner David Walls, the Board unanimously voted to postpone the hearing and to readvertise it in accordance with legal notice requirements. The hearing was scheduled for the next regular Board meeting on May 20, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
