Planning staff lists major permit milestones, including Argyle High School 7,500-seat stadium expansion

Purnima of the planning staff presented a quarterly update to the commission describing recent permit activity and projects moving forward across the town.

Purnima said the Town Council approved a site plan on July 1, 2024, to expand Argyle High School to include a stadium with 7,500 seats, a press box, concession stands and an indoor practice facility; development and building permits for that site were finalized in February and March. "So on 07/01/2024, Town Council approved a site plan to expand the existing Argyle High School to allow construction of stadium, press box, concession stands, indoor athletic facility," Purnima said.

The quarterly report also listed a 79,000-square-foot office/warehouse distribution facility (Box Investments), an AutoZone retail building (permits issued in March, site plan approved on 10/14/2024), a Lakeside Parkway office and warehouse, Village Church Phase 2 DEV permit, Sylvan Park retail/restaurant and multifamily permits (including a 200-unit multifamily), a 107-room Hampton Inn site plan, Fortimere Phase 2 (24 senior living villas), Brookview Phases 1A/1B, Canyon Falls Village 3 (65 single-family lots), Pine Hill Residential Subdivision (14 lots), Valley Creek Church permits for pickleball courts and a soccer field, and two Lewisville ISD practice-field turf replacements that did not require site-plan applications but were issued DP permits.

After the presentation, commissioners thanked staff and moved on to consent items. No votes were required on the update itself, which served to inform commission deliberations on subsequent agenda items.
