Fair Oaks Ranch seeks public feedback on strategic action plan and will reconcile outdoor‑lighting code differences

Fair Oaks Ranch council members reviewed several planning and community items, a staff member said, including a conflict between the city’s unified development code and the outdoor‑lighting ordinance and the final draft of the strategic action plan.

On outdoor lighting, the staff member said the city has two governing documents that are saying different things and that council will provide guidance to staff. That guidance will go to the planning and zoning commission to update the documents and then be brought back to council for approval.

The strategic action plan is at the final draft stage and has been circulated to city stakeholders; staff asked residents to submit feedback through a link on the city’s website on priorities and areas of focus for Fair Oaks Ranch.

The meeting also included a brief update on Fourth of July plans: the country club will cosponsor the city’s event and staff said they are considering a slightly larger fireworks display to mark the 250th anniversary.
