Chickasaw County Board of Health approves $10,000 private well grant amendment, new nurse on-call policy and routine claims

The Chickasaw County Board of Health unanimously approved a $10,000 amendment to a private well grant, adopted a 24-hour Nurse on-call Policy and approved routine claims and payroll at its meeting Friday in New Hampton.

The board acknowledged Administrator Lisa Welter’s signature on the Private Well Grant Amendment #2 after Welter told members she requested and received the additional $10,000 for the program. Dr. Brinkman moved and Joan Knoll seconded the acknowledgement; the motion carried with ayes from Knoll, Dr. Brinkman, Sinnwell, McGrath and Chair Toni Friedrich.

The approvals continued with financial actions: the board approved Public Health claims totaling $17,938.00 and Environmental Health claims of $1,363.58 for a grand total of $19,301.58. Jeremy McGrath moved to approve the claims and Joan Knoll seconded; the board recorded unanimous approval. The board also approved payroll for the pay periods ending Feb. 15 and March 1, 2026, on a motion by Dr. Brinkman, seconded by Knoll.

On personnel policy, the board approved a new 24-hour Nurse on-call Policy. Dr. Brinkman moved and Knoll seconded the policy motion; the motion carried with affirmative votes from all members present.

The meeting packet and minutes reflect no public comment for the session. The board set its next meeting for April 10, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. and adjourned at 9:37 a.m.
