During department heads reports at the March 30 meeting, several county offices summarized upcoming work and recent activity.
The Veterans Affairs office reported it is preparing for Memorial Day and again indicated it will not pursue a 28E agreement with Taylor County. Adams County Auditor Betsy Stormer told the board the auditor’s office will close for SEAT continuing education, reminded the public that absentee ballot requests will be accepted through May 18, and said staff are working on an ICAP insurance supplement application.
The Sheriff’s office reported a busy weekend but the minutes do not provide further detail. Conservation reported a series of park projects: docks were installed, the beach wall was poured and tile/backfill work was under way, a parking‑lot wall has been poured and sidewalk/barrier work was planned; several memorial benches were donated. Conservation staff also reported an excellent fish report, water levels about one foot low, plans to switch credit card providers, a hosted critter program that drew about 90 attendees, cottages mostly full for the season with some cabin rentals available, and plans to re‑side cabins 9–14.
The minutes record these operational updates but include no formal motions related to the department reports.
