The council heard from the I9 Sports franchise operator about participation and plans for local youth sports programs. The presenter said the league has operated three seasons since its winter 2025 launch and that “we've had about 289 players play in the league since the beginning.” He told council roughly 46–47% of registrants are Southwest Ranches residents and that renewal rates have been about 33%, below the network’s typical 50%.
The operator outlined current and prospective program changes to grow participation: expanding Sunday play (the presenter said Sunday programming increased customers by 48% in the recent season), piloting travel-style flag football among nearby venues to increase teams, and adding a pee-wee tee-ball program (ages 3–5) for fall 2026 that requires only a small turf area rather than a baseball diamond.
Council members encouraged collaboration with the town’s communications director to boost resident awareness through newsletter and targeted outreach. The franchise owner said he will work with the town’s communications staff to improve local outreach and marketing for upcoming seasons.
