Yanceyville attorney: resubmit LGC letter with interim finance officer signature; town announces Farmers Market and First Friday dates

Town Attorney Lee Farmer told the council that the Local Government Commission requested the town resubmit a letter originally filed April 2, 2024, adding an acknowledgement from the town’s financial officer. Farmer said the only changes are adding a signature line for Town Manager Kamara Barnett to sign as Interim Finance Officer and updating the date to April 11, 2024. He indicated that, if there were no objections, council members and the town manager should re-sign and resubmit the document.

Separately, Town Manager Kamara Barnett announced community events: the Farmers Market will open Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the Town Pavilion with entertainment provided by the Caswell Arts Council; Barnett also said the 2024 First Friday season will begin May 3, 2024, with NuSoul performing.
