County administrator: new sheriff's facility is progressing, interior work underway

The county administrator updated commissioners on construction of the new sheriff's facility, saying offsite inspections of steel cells were completed, most of the concrete work for the structure is finished, and interior trades are installing drywall and elevators. Earthwork and drainage on the north side of the building are underway, and the administrator invited commissioners to tour the site.

Officials said project teams identified design tweaks during inspections that were implemented to avoid future problems. No staffing or occupancy dates were set in the meeting record.
