Commission recommends County accept Hunter Trail for paving after residents' request

Commission members recommended that the County Commission accept Hunter Trail off Merrell Road as a Dickson County road so the residents can have the street repaved.

The chair said he had not realized Hunter Trail was not officially a county road and noted that "7 out of those 9 lots have been built," adding that residents had paid property taxes and expected the road to be paved. Counsel described the road as intended to be public at dedication and said the developer's bond had lapsed and was not renewed.

Counsel named developer David Bradbury in providing background to the commission. No party in the meeting said any bond could be reinstated; counsel said a lapsed bond left limited options and that acceptance by the County Commission is the first step toward county maintenance and paving.

A motion was made and seconded recommending that the County Commission accept Hunter Trail as a Dickson County road; the commission adopted the recommendation by voice vote. The commission noted the County Commission will decide formal acceptance and any paving timetable.
