Councilor Colter read a volunteer proclamation praising Keizer’s tradition of volunteerism and presented official recognition to local volunteers during the Parks & Recreation advisory committee meeting.
The proclamation highlighted the role volunteers play in sustaining city services and community well-being since Keizer’s incorporation. Councilor Colter presented a symbolic recognition item and thanked committee members for their service; committee members responded with appreciation and light-hearted remarks about the recognition items.
The chair and members also discussed a recent committee recommendation to appoint Rhonda Rich to the emergency planning committee and arranged for someone to attend the April 29 meeting to present volunteer appreciation to her. The committee reiterated its thanks to volunteers and confirmed logistics for upcoming recognition events.
The meeting then moved on to administrative items including approval of February minutes and scheduling the April 16 interim meeting to finalize a volunteer recruitment video script.
