Committee approves contract for automated resident calls and texts

The committee approved an emergency ordinance to contract with Miller Moseley Company, doing business as Buckeye Peach Group LLC, to provide mass text messaging, automated calls and resident polling services for Cleveland City Council communications.

Communications staff (identified in the meeting as Miss Stickers) said the contract will let council members and committees send prerecorded messages and surveys to residents, but the committee discussed establishing a usage protocol so messages are coordinated and contact lists are kept current. Councilwoman Santana asked whether use would be unlimited for council members; staff said the office will work with council members to establish a protocol for distribution and update contact information through the communications office.

With those clarifications, the committee approved ordinance 283‑2026.
