CRC re-elects chair, seeks licensed architect to fill vacancy

The CRC re-elected its current leadership and announced an open seat for a licensed architect during a short reorganization meeting. Members approved the February 5 minutes and the meeting agenda, then voted to retain existing officers required by the city code.

A city staff member said, "We do have an opening for the CRC. There's a position that we like to have filled by an architect or a retired architect that must... be licensed," and directed interested applicants to the city clerk's online application portal. The staff member also offered city staff contact information for questions about the vacancy.

The meeting included routine procedural votes. A committee member moved to approve the minutes from Feb. 5; the motion was seconded and approved by voice. The agenda was then approved after a motion and second; the clerk conducted a roll call announcing members present. Later, a motion to retain the current officers was made and carried by voice vote. Staff stated that Von Cochran will serve as chair and Lorna McDonald as vice chair for the new year, and explained that the April meeting fulfills a city-code requirement for CRC reorganization.

A staff member noted the next tentative meeting date as May 7 and said the application deadline for that meeting is next week. With no further business, a motion to adjourn was made, seconded and carried, and the meeting concluded within minutes.
