The Edwardsburg Village Council approved routine financial documents and set its annual budget work session during a Jan. 19 meeting at Village Hall.
Trustee Terry Bidwell moved and Trustee Laura Hughes supported a motion to approve the agenda, which carried unanimously, and the board then approved the minutes of the Dec. 15, 2025 regular meeting on a motion by Bidwell supported by Hughes. Trustee Kellen Van Hulle moved and Trustee Sam Garwood supported approval of the Revenue/Expenditure Report for the period April 1, 2025–Dec. 31, 2025; a roll call vote was recorded and all members voted in favor.
The council also approved the check register (checks #39098–39165 and EFT checks #150373–150391) with a grand total of $71,610.36 on a motion by Van Hulle supported by Bidwell; the motion carried on a roll call vote. The treasurer's unaudited report showed monthly receipts for December 2025 totaled $121,101.45.
The council set its annual budget work session for Saturday, Feb. 7 at 9:00 a.m. at Village Hall. In his president's report, President Dennis Peak said the village is exploring an engineering firm to evaluate a sidewalk along U.S. 12 and hopes for cost information before the final 2026–2027 budget is adopted.
The meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m. The clerk noted the Village office will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 for Presidents Day and listed the next board meeting for Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
