A resident told the Adelanto City Council on April 8 that truck drivers are parking in the Frontier Homes neighborhood and creating quality‑of‑life and safety concerns.
"The truck drivers around this area are really disrespectful. They're going around there and parking in my residence," Eugene Lewis said, identifying himself as a resident of Frontier Homes. He said drivers park off Jonathan and Holly, Fremont and Perryman and sometimes enter back yards. Lewis said he had contacted the sheriff's department and city representatives but said signage and additional public‑works attention were needed.
Mayor Reyes responded that residents can report parking problems directly to the city using the My Adelanto mobile app and upload photos. "Once you submit it in there, it would go directly to code enforcement," the mayor said, noting citations typically begin with a warning and escalate if the issue persists.
The resident said he had called the sheriff and received some assistance, and he urged the city to post 'no truck parking' signs in the neighborhood. City staff reiterated that code enforcement will respond to reports submitted through the app so that citations can be issued when appropriate.
