Blackstone‑Millville committee adopts ‘Blueprint 2’ strategic plan, staff to begin action planning

The Blackstone‑Millville Regional School Committee voted June 23 to adopt the district’s updated strategic plan, called Blueprint 2, clearing the way for staff to start turning the plan into concrete action steps.

District leaders presented the plan’s structure — a vision described as the “Charger Way,” five core capacities for graduates and four implementation pillars (curriculum, instruction, whole‑child supports and community). The presenters said the plan will guide decisions across the district and requested approval so the leadership team can begin building the action plan.

“We are hoping for, at the end of this, an approval because tomorrow at 8AM, we are starting to build the action plan,” said the superintendent, opening the report on the strategic plan. Committee members asked questions about curriculum alignment and how the district would monitor progress.

Committee members discussed a monitoring or steering group that would include a cross section of stakeholders and review goals on a quarterly cycle. Dan, a school committee member, moved to accept the district’s strategic plan Blueprint 2; the motion was seconded by Aaron Z and passed by voice vote. Committee members thanked the planning team and noted that adoption would allow immediate backward‑mapping from the 2025 goals into yearly and classroom‑level targets.
