The Blackstone‑Millville Regional School Committee voted to approve an OPM (owner’s project manager) selection subcommittee to lead the district’s MSBA OPM selection process and develop the request for services, scoring criteria and interview plan.
Superintendent Jason DeFalco described the two MSBA documents in the packet — a closeout for the Millville boiler project and an OPM selection packet — and explained that the OPM would guide the district through the feasibility study and, if the project is approved, the construction phase. He emphasized the importance of scoring criteria and a consistent point system in both proposal review and firm interviews.
Chuck Dunton moved to approve the subcommittee. The committee approved the motion; the named subcommittee members are Mary Bolsow, Matthew Plant, Sarah Peters, Joseph Spagna and Jason DeFalco. The superintendent noted the MSBA meeting schedule and said the district will target the MSBA’s September meeting (with an earlier August 5 meeting also noted) for OPM approval, and that the school building committee will participate in proposal review.
Committee members thanked the volunteers for the detailed, time‑consuming work and emphasized that the subcommittee will carry much of the preparatory work for the RFS and firm interviews.
