Yanceyville council updates planning fees and approves $2,000 veteran's memorial budget amendment

The Yanceyville Town Council on April 4 unanimously approved updates to the town's Planning and Zoning fee schedule and passed Budget Amendment IV, which adds $2,000 to the Veteran's Memorial Fund for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023.

Town Manager Kamara Barnett recommended adoption of the proposed Planning and Zoning fee schedule, saying it would assist budget projections. Councilman Keith Tatum moved to approve the fee schedule; Councilman Brian Massey seconded and the motion passed with a unanimous vote.

Barnett then read Budget Amendment IV, which increases appropriations and revenues in the Special Revenue Fund by $2,000 for the Veteran's Memorial Fund. Councilman Brian Massey moved approval; Councilman Keith Tatum seconded and the council voted unanimously to adopt the amendment.

Votes recorded at the meeting showed the following members voting yes on both items: Mayor Alvin Foster, Mayor Pro Tem Odessa Gwynn, Councilman Brian Massey and Councilman Keith Tatum. No member recorded a no vote, abstention or absence for either motion.

Both measures were adopted through motions made during the regular meeting without further amendment and with no additional public comment recorded on the items.
