Council approves quitclaim deed sale of small parcel at 926 37th Place North

The Birmingham City Council voted April 7 to authorize the mayor to execute a quitclaim deed conveying the north 12.5 feet of Lot 8 and the south 25 feet of Lot 9 in Block 19 (property at 926 37th Place North) to Walter Lee upon receipt of $13,877.80. The ordinance was recommended by the director of finance and was considered under permanent operations (Item 17).

Council members moved and seconded the item, and the council adopted the ordinance by recorded voice votes in the chamber. Council president Alexander declared Item 17 passed and noted the recommendation came from the director of finance.

Next steps: the mayor will execute the deed upon receipt of payment and Finance will complete closing documentation.
