Board honors student athletes across wrestling, fencing, track and swimming

The Board of Education recognized student athletes from West Windsor‑Plainsboro High School North and South for winter‑season accomplishments.

Jeff Riley, athletics director for High School North, introduced members of the wrestling and fencing teams and highlighted records and placements: Siam Ray (22–9), Anderson Reyes (30–5) with a CBC championship at 144 pounds and a fourth‑place NJISAA District finish, and fencers Morgan Lee and Harshita Vankatitian with All‑State selections and top‑five finishes at the state individual championships. Riley also noted several winter track relay teams that qualified for nationals.

Kate Dobinson, athletics director for High School South, recognized swimmers, boys’ and girls’ basketball honorees and award‑winning coaches. She highlighted first‑place Colonial Valley Conference finishes, a CBC girls basketball coach of the year award for Zach Coomer, and individual achievements including an athlete who placed at national competition and new school records in middle‑ and long‑distance events.

Board members and the superintendent thanked coaches, students and families. The recognition portion concluded before the meeting transitioned to the tentative budget presentation.
