Commission unanimously elects Enrique Budan as new chair

The Austin Public Safety Commission voted unanimously to elect Commissioner Enrique Budan as its new chair during Tuesday’s meeting.

A commissioner moved to nominate Enrique Budan; a second was received and the nominee accepted. The chair called for a show of hands and the motion passed unanimously. The outgoing chair said she will remain as vice chair to help with the transition.

Commissioners congratulated Budan and discussed upcoming agenda items, including additional APD presentations on evidence processes and overtime before budget season, and outreach to department unions.
