Committee OKs change to Advantage waiver eligibility from 21 to 19

A legislative committee voted unanimously to lower the eligibility age for physically disabled adults on the Advantage waiver program from 21 to 19.

The presenter said the change moves eligibility earlier so young adults can access waiver supports sooner. A member compared the measure to similar investments in elderly care and argued that small investments can produce savings across long-term care systems; the presenter agreed that small investments may produce savings overall.
