The Hinckley Town Council on March 19 unanimously approved the amended plat for West Hinckley Unit 1 after the applicant agreed to a fee‑in‑lieu for construction of a required turnaround.
Joyce Barney presented the amended plat and the council reviewed a written bid from Boneyard Crushing Inc. for $2,550 to build the turnaround. The council also considered a letter from Fire Chief Steve Thatcher strongly recommending construction of the turnaround to ensure emergency vehicles can maneuver safely.
Council Member Chris Mork moved to approve the amended plat by accepting the fee‑in‑lieu arrangement and directing Boneyard Crushing to construct the turnaround; Council Member Skip Taylor seconded the motion. The motion carried on a roll call vote with Skip Taylor, Chris Mork, Ron Black, Kristi Townsend and Mayor Alan Miller voting aye. Mayor Alan Miller and Town Clerk Tresa Taylor signed the plat mylar after the vote.
The approval places responsibility on the town to contract the turnaround construction while the applicant satisfied the fee requirement. No additional conditions or timelines for construction were specified in the meeting record.
