Resident urges Tavares to add speed bumps in parkway after dog hit; staff to follow up

John McCoy, a resident of Imperial Terrace East Park, spoke during audience comments on March 18 to thank the city for recent road resurfacing and to request installation of about eight speed bumps on Vindell Road parkway to slow drivers who cut through the neighborhood. McCoy said neighbors have observed vehicles traveling at speeds he estimated at 38 to 40 mph and recounted a recent incident in which a dog was struck.

City staff asked McCoy to leave contact information and committed to follow up with guidance on speed bump installation, including technical and policy considerations. The council heard the comment during the public-comment period and staff said they will provide information and options to the resident and the council.
